Praying for Your Student During the School Year
Main points pulled from

Relationships…Your student interacts daily with teachers, friends, coaches, and family. Pray that they will choose to spend time with people who know and love God. Pray that your student will share their faith in Christ with others. Positive Peer Pressure… Your student’s friends are important. Friends are the ones they share their emotions with and from whom they seek advice. Pray for your student to be a positive influence on his/her peers. Dating Relationships… Pray for your student’s purity, wisdom, and ability to withstand temptation. Pray for your student to find a Christian person to date. Pray for your student to seek wise counsel in addressing difficult decisions in the dating relationship. Wisdom… Your student makes a lot of choices. Pray that your student will have the ability to think through and process situations before acting or speaking. Right from Wrong… The best source for your student to determine right from wrong is to lead him/her to the Bible. Pray that your student will read God’s Word and clearly know the difference between right and wrong. Protection… Your student is living in a frightening world. The best thing to do is to take seriously your responsibility to pray for your student’s physical, emotional, and spiritual protection daily. Self-Acceptance… Growing up is hard to do. Students need a boost in their self-esteem every day. Pray that you will encourage your student through your words and actions daily. Pray for your student to accept both his/her successes and failures and still know of his/her worth in Christ’s kingdom. Good Role Models… Ask for God to place in your student’s life people who will exemplify the Christian life. Pray for other Christian adults to surround your student when you may not be available. Pray James 1:19… Pray: “May (your student’s name) be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” Balance… Today’s students juggle lots of activities at school, church, and even work. Pray that your students can choose wisely from all the demands on their time and be able to balance everything correctly.

Praying with You for Your Student,
                                                                                                            MICHAEL and DANA
